How much can you save?

The ROI of a solar PV system has become so attractive, many people are surprised to find out it is now possible to get a top of the range system to pay for itself in as quickly as 3 or 4 years, with a possible total profit of nearly $50,000 over the life of the system.

Additionally, you are taking $50,000 off the books of Australia’s coal industry, creating a huge impact for the future of Australia’s Renewable Energy Industry. This is why installing a solar power system is the single most effective action you can take to not only reduce your power bill but to vote for a clean energy future in Australia.

The output of a system varies significantly depending on a number of factors including the orientation of your roof, the angle of your roof, shade, the quality of the brands you select and the standard of the installation. The CEC Guidelines state that a 5kW solar system in Sydney will output around 19.5kW/h a day. Importantly, this is not distributed equally across the year.

Based on our experience, and the production figures we collect from our customers’ solar PV system, a 5 or 6KW residential system will save you $300 to $500 every quarter. You are looking at around $1600 off your electricity bill per year.

Tips for solar owners:

  1. Install your panels on both west facing and east facing of your roof if you usually stay home in the day, e.g. you have a home office
  2. Install all your panels facing north if possible if you do not stay home in the daytime.
  3. Try to run all of the big appliances in the day, e.g. swimming pool filter, aircon, washing machine, dryer and any other big appliances
  4. Replace all your light bulbs with LED

Try NOT to run all the big appliances at the same time during the day, usually between 9am to 4pm.
