Small-scale systems installed across Australia
This map shows the total number of small-scale renewable energy systems installed under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme in each state and territory, and the total kilowatt rated output for February 2017 and the national cumulative totals since 2001.

*Given the 12-month period for creating small-scale technology certificates, the number of certificates for monthly installations will continue to rise. The data which informs this month’s update is accurate as at 1 March 2017. For up to date figures, please refer to the postcode data for small-scale installations.
National trends and analysis
- There were 6316 small-scale systems installed nationally in February, with a total generation capacity of 29 928.
- Installation rates for February are currently tracking higher than January, with 6316 installed compared to 4623 last month
- Queensland continues to have the highest level of small-scale installations across Australia with 1994 systems installed so far in February
- Queensland had the highest number of commercial sized solar PV systems (10-100kW) installed in February, with 72 systems installed
- There were 248 commercial sized solar PV systems (10 – 100kW) installed Australia-wide in February
- Victoria had the largest small-scale PV system installed so far in February at 50.320kW
- There were 49 PV systems that had a concurrent battery storage installation in February, bringing the total to 2771

Each table below shows the breakdown of system types installed in each state and territory for February 2017, and the running total since the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme commenced in 2001.

- The Australian Capital Territory installed 37 small-scale systems in February, which is an increase from January’s installation figures
- Fyshwick (postcode area 2609) is the top performing suburb in the Australian Capital Territory in February with three new installations

- Buderim (postcode area 4556) is the top performing suburb in Queensland in February with 18 new installations

- South Australia has installed 438 small-scale systems in February which is an increase from last month, representing 7 per cent of the total installed capacity Australia-wide

- South Australia had 22 commercial sized solar PV systems (10-100kW) installed in February
- Victoria has installed 827 small-scale systems in February which is an increase from last month, representing 13 per cent of the total installed capacity Australia-wide
